A few years ago I got to take a ride on the Napa Valley Wine Train, a restored train of 1915 Pullman Standard Company cars that were once used as first-class coaches for Northern Pacific Railway’s premiere trains. They were the height of technological advancement of their time, with electric lights, steam heat, and arched windows.
