IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE provides five types of licensing:

Personal Image Use, Blog Image Use, Project Use, Full Image, and Book/Magazine/CD Covers.

The site pricing scheme varies depending on the type of camera used and the image size. Lesser quality cameras are priced as less expensive than better quality cameras. You will notice this when you open up your shopping cart.

Note on Editing Purchased Images:

If, for some reason, you need to edit an image – crop, lighten, darken, place an overlay, vignette, etc. – you may do so with the permission of the photographer.

Use of images in other than Personal spaces must be credited to:

Please notify IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE if you use your purchase in a publication or on a web site. Your publication will be added to the list of clients with a link back (for web projects) to where an image was used.

The Personal Image Use License

In this case, you are purchasing a Personal License for a large image. These images are ONLY to be used for personal projects. Images purchased under this license are subject to the restrictions described under Prohibited Uses below and the following bullets are ‘Permitted Uses’ of media purchased from IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE for Personal Use:

personal invitations;
school or university projects (teacher or student) – one time use;
social media post or profile image;
decorative background on your personal computer or mobile device, ie: wallpaper;
artist reference for an art project or collage

The Blog Image Use License

These images are ONLY to be used for web site and blog posts/projects. These images are sized before sale and while you can make them smaller if you like, you can’t make them larger. Images purchased under this license are subject to the restrictions described under Prohibited Uses below, and the following bullets are ‘Permitted Uses’ of media purchased from IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE for Blog Image Use:

online or electronic publications, including web pages, blogs, ebooks and video. Internal images only, no covers.

The Project Use License

These images are ONLY to be used for Editorial projects. Commercial projects are approved on a case by case basis. Images purchased under this license are subject to the restrictions described under Prohibited Uses below, and the following bullets are ‘Permitted Uses’ of media purchased from IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE for Project Image Use:

small advertising and promotional projects, including printed materials, product packaging, presentations, film and video presentations, commercials, catalogues, brochures, promotional greeting cards and promotional postcards (ie. not for resale or license) up to 2,000 prints;

The Full Image License

commercial invitations, advertising and promotional projects, including printed materials, product packaging, presentations, film and video presentations, commercials, catalogues, brochures, promotional greeting cards and promotional postcards up to 10,000 number of prints;
entertainment applications, such as INSIDE books, magazines, newspapers, print editorials, print newsletters, video projects, broadcast and theatrical presentations;
prints, posters (i.e. a hardcopy) and other reproductions for personal or promotional purposes, (NOT for resale, re-licensing by any party other than the photographer, or any other distribution);
in themes, skins, electronic device wallpapers, and other electronic software meant for resale.

E-Book And CD Covers, Greeting Cards, Puzzles License

These images will be used for high profile editorial projects. These images may be altered, ie: cropped to fit, addition of text, etc. Images purchased under this license are subject to the restrictions described under Prohibited Uses below, and the following bullets are ‘Permitted Uses’ of media purchased from IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE for Cover Image Use:

covers for e-books and cds/music;
puzzles for resale;
greeting cards for resale;
ask for size edit if needed;

Hard Copy Print Book And Magazine Covers, And Posters License

entertainment applications, such as books and book covers, magazines covers;
prints, posters (i.e. a hardcopy) and other reproductions for resale;
ask for size edit if needed

All of the licenses permit you to use the purchased media in one project only.

For use in multiple projects, additional licenses may be required. An exception to this rule is if an image is used in an editorial capacity with a duplicate article both in print and online; one license permits you to use the same image in both mediums.

Prohibited Uses

install and use the IMAGES in more than one location or post a copy of the IMAGES on a network server or web server for use by other users;
sub-license, re-sell, rent, lend, assign, gift or otherwise transfer or distribute the IMAGES or the rights granted under these terms;
use any of the IMAGES as part of a trade-mark, design-mark, trade-name, business name, service mark, or logo;
se IMAGES identified as “Editorial Use Only”, for any commercial, promotional, endorsement, advertising or merchandising use. For clarification, in this Agreement “Editorial Use Only” of IMAGES means use relating to events that are newsworthy or of general interest and expressly excludes any advertorial sections (i.e. sections or supplements featuring brand and/or product names or sections or supplements in relation to which you receive a fee from a third-party advertiser or sponsor);
remove any notice of copyright, trade-mark or other proprietary right from any place where it is on or embedded in the IMAGES
use the IMAGES in a fashion that is considered by us or under applicable law to be pornographic, obscene, immoral, infringing, defamatory or libelous in nature, or that would be reasonably likely to bring any person or property reflected in the IMAGES into disrepute;
use the IMAGES in a way that places any person depicted in the IMAGES in a bad light or in a way that they may find offensive – this includes, but is not limited to, the use of images: a) in pornography, “adult videos” or the like; b) in ads or promotional materials for adult entertainment clubs or similar venues, or for escort, dating or similar services; and c) uses that are defamatory, or contain otherwise unlawful, offensive or immoral content. You may not use IMAGES containing the likeness of a person if such use implies that the model engages in any immoral or illegal activity or suffers from a physical or mental infirmity, ailment or condition;
use IMAGES in a manner that competes with our business including, but not limited to, displaying IMAGES in any format (including thumbnails) for download or Export on a website or offering IMAGES for sale;
use the IMAGES for editorial purposes without including the following credit adjacent to the Stock Media or in audio/visual production credits: ‘©[our name]’;
incorporate the IMAGES in any product that results in a re-distribution or re-use of the Stock Media or is otherwise made available in a manner such that a person can extract or access or reproduce the IMAGES as an electronic file;
to the extent that source code is contained within the IMAGES, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of such source code;
se or display the IMAGES in an electronic format that enables it to be downloaded, Exported or distributed via mobile devices or shared in any peer-to-peer or similar file sharing arrangement; or
use or display IMAGES in such a manner that gives the impression that the IMAGES were created by you or a person other than the copyright holder of the IMAGES.

Please note that by purchasing a license to use the media on this site from IMAGES@ARTIST-AT-LARGE, you acknowledge that no transfer of copyright exists, and you are purchasing a license to use the media as per the terms set out in this agreement.
