Another day trip! Another work day!

Yesterday’s bit of a whim outing took my day trip pal S. and I over to The Marin Headlands. We spent the day wandering around through the old batteries and going down to the beach. It was another beautiful day with very few people on the road or on the trails. At the end of the day, we just happened to hit the Golden Gate Bridge lookouts just as the sun was falling below the horizon.

While I did take a number of handheld images here, I did use one of the fence posts as a makeshift tripod. I take a Joby Gorilla Tripod on every one of our day trips and you know what? Until yesterday I had never used it. And the only reason why I used it yesterday was because I forced myself to attach the camera to it before I got out of the car at the beach. Obviously I took it off again, hence the fence post.

You might be asking why I am I taking more photographs of the Golden Gate Bridge? Aren’t there enough images of it in the world? Everyone who visits San Francisco takes photos of it. There are local photographers who have made a career out of taking images of the bridge.

Well, I say, it’s another day. No two images of the bridge are the same. Even the repeats I made yesterday are not the same. Plus. Images of the bridge do sell from time to time.

So just because the market is oversaturated with images of one particular place or thing, they aren’t your images of that place or thing. Shoot away, my friend. Shoot away.
