This week has just begun, but I think most of my photography for the week has happened already.
I spent this past weekend house and dog sitting for a new-to-me person. A cute little backyard house in the Northside of Berkeley. Sometimes when I have a housesit, especially a new one, I create a photography challenge for myself. Finding something new to make images of without imposing on client’s privacy. Still lifes, or plants, or food as I get to create in the kitchen …
This house had an abundance of plants in the yard, mostly ferns, a tree or two, a very large palm tree, and a few bushy plants. I fell in love with the uncurling tree ferns, one of my favorite garden plants. They seem so prehistoric. I don’t know why. I find them otherworldly, rather than common. Like they’ve survived millennia.
Images are up, under the Nature Gallery here on the site and on Alamy.
