This week the challenge is all about shooting from the hip.
The Goal:
Sometimes we can let ourselves go and feel into the happy accidents. This challenge is a call to loosen up, let go, and just see what happens.
This week, wear your camera at your hip – make sure it is secured to you in some way for safety’s sake – as you go through your week, randomly press the shutter button and take images without looking through the viewfinder or display screen. You can also shoot from your waist if that might be easier, but shooting from your hip gives a completely random image, not one of something you are looking at directly.
Read through the Learning To See description to make sure you get why and how you are doing the challenge. Make sure that the composition of your images are 100% about the challenge.
Always experiment with variations on the weekly theme within the subjects of the challenge – composition, contrast, shape, texture, colors, light, shadow, perspective, framing …
