Visiting churches, cathedrals, and basilicas when I travel is more about architectural history and archaeology rather than in my being a religious person. The two churches I visited in Aix-en-Provence were Saint-Jean de Malte and CathĆ©drale Saint Sauveur Aix-en-Provence – some call it the Aix Cathedral in English – with its Cloisters. Romanesque and Gothic features, as well as the courtyard, of the Cloisters are worth seeing.
